Bet365 Bonus

Nothing too much to report today. I've been playing over at bet365 the last couple days. I cleared 350 raked hands this weekend for Octobers Bonus bonanza. Lost about $20, but should get $70 or so in bonus. Then I'll continue and do the same bonus for November. 500 raked hands for $100 bucks.

Not too many SNGs lately. Two Turbo $6's. Took 3rd and 4th. The 4th place, I lost a coinflip with AK against 44. he just barely had me covered, and I raised into him! I can't believe people call all their chips away with low pocket pairs at the end of SNGs. Either you are way behind to a higher pair, or you got a coinflip. I can see raising with them in an attempt to steal the blinds, but uggg, I hate low pocket pairs at short tables.

And then I took 2nd in a $10 SNG. Villain and I had right around same chipstack, with him having just a little bit more. We get it all in with my AT against his KT. Can you say domination? Oops, guess what comes on the river?

Absolute Bonus Cleared

I cleared the rest of my bonus, so I cashed out of Absolute yesterday.

I deposited $100, and yesterday I withdrew $448. $188 profit from playing poker (most of that playing NL), and $160 from bonus ($10 of that from the cracked aces promotion). Not too shaby. I'm not sure where I am going to go to next. Possibly bet365. The same promotion that has been going on in Sept and Oct will also be done in Nov. $100 for 500 raked hands. Also, I got an e-mail for a weekend 25% bonus up to $100 at Paradise Poker.

I've been running kind of cold at pokerstars and the SNGs lately. I haven't placed in the money my last 4 SNGs, and I don't have a 1st place for at least 7 SNGs. I finally broke that streak this morning by winning a Turbo $6. Too bad I gave that profit away at the NL tables this morning.

I have full stack ($25) at a 6 max table. I get KK and raise it up to $1.00 (4x BB) from the CO. Villain has been a maniac and been involved in a lot of hands. He has already lost a stack and rebought in the last 10 minutes. I was playing other tables so I didn't consider this when I started playing against him. He calls from the SB. Flop comes with two 4's and an ace. I bet $1.50, and he min-raises me. I re-raise back another 3/4 pot, and he goes all-in. I can't really put him on an A, so I call. Well, he didn't have an ace. he had a 4. 74 offsuit to be exact. He called my PF raise with 74 offsuit!! Arggg.

I have to learn to lay down my high pocket pairs. I should have just laid it down after the min-raise. Especially with the A on the flop. Such a boneheaded move. I learned my lesson, but it was an expensive lesson.

Home game recap

The Home Game last night was fun. I didn't win, but I learned a lot. I stayed right around the starting chip stack most of the night. The only time I went to showdown was when I busted out. In the beginning, no body was calling my PF raises. I don't know, maybe they were scared of the new "Internet Playing" Guy.

I won a pot the first orbit where I got the nut flush on the turn, but no one called my turn bet. Another hand, I got pocket 8's, hit trips on the flop. I checked, intending to slowplay. But other player checked also. A third heart came on the turn, and I made a full pot bet. Other dude folded. The only time I bluffed was really a semi-bluff. I had TJ of hearts. 4 limpers/callers. Flop came KJx with two hearts. I made a big bet, but no one called.

The hand I went out on, I got screwed over.

I'm in the BB with [Ac] [Qs]. UTG limps, Button limps, SB calls. I grabbed my chips intending to raise, thinking I could get all the limpers to fold. As I was playing with my chips, the dealer didn't notice that I was going to raise, and flipped over two cards, which one of them was a Q. I said that I hadn't acted yet, so the dealer re-shuffled the deck. I should have said "raise" right away, but the dealers still should have been paying attention. So I raised 4X the BB. UTG goess all-in, and he has me covered. This guy is one of the more experienced players, so I thought he was trying to put a move on the new guy. I highly doubted that he had a high pocket pair. I figured I was up against two broadway cards. The other two players folded, and I decided to call.

He flipped over [6h] [6s]. The flop contained another 6, and I was drawing dead. He limped, went all-in with 6's!?!?!?!! I probably should have just checked PF, but if the dealer wouldn't have screwed up, I probably would have won.

Oh well, 'twas fun.

On the internet side, I have only have $10 more to clear at absolute. I'll probably get that done this afternoon. I'm not sure what site I'll go to next. Maybe over to bet365 real quick and clear their easy $50 bonus.

Oh, and had my KK beat with AA AGAIN playing 1/2 limit at absolute this morning. Holy crap, this has happened to me so many times at that site, it’s not even funny.

First Home Game Tongiht

I'm going to my first real home game tonight. The only other time I've ever played live was at my house a few months back when I was just starting out playing poker. It might have even been before I started playing online, I don't remember. A couple other friends who have never played poker came over, and we played nickel dime stuff. I don't think any of us knew what we were doing.

So tonight should be fun. They do what is basically a $10 SNG. They all have played before, so I may be at a disadvantage. I hope I don't have too many tells

I played in a $6 Turbo and a $10 SNG this morning. I got 2nd place in the Turbo $6. The guy who won was a push monkey heads up, so I finally made a stand when he had twice as many chips as me. I hit a pair, but he hit a higher pair on the flop. Oh well.

I went out in 6th on the $10. My god, this game was so passive. I help the chip lead for a little while, but no one was playing. I only saw 10% of the flops when I was the chipleader!! no one was calling any of my raises. I then lost half of my chips when I flopped top pair and a Gutshot. Villain slowplayed trips perfectly, and took half my chips. Then I started losing my patience. Play was sooooooo slow. 55 minutes into the thing there were still 6 people left!! I went out when I hit top pair on a 3 flush board and psuhed hoping to make villain pay if he had one of the suit. he ended up having two of the suit, so I go home now.

Bankroll is above $800!!!!!

Winning in NL Ring

Interesteing poker weekend. I got killed in the limit games on Saturday. I lost about $60 playing mostly 1/2 limit. Had aces cracked by trips again. Lots of missed draws.

So I decided to play No limit the rest of the weeked. I cleaned up there. Made about $165.00 playing .10/.25 NL (Max $50 buy-in) I couldn't believe it. Lots of bad play out there. Won some huge pots with Aces. Won another huge pot with pocket 5s. I hit trips on the flop and opponent hit OESD. He hit his straight on the turn, but the board paired on the river giving me a full house.

Then this morning I backed into 3rd place in a $10 SNG. I was amazed. I've never been so card dead in my life, but still won 3rd. The only hand I won at showdown was when I was the short stack with 5 people left, and my chip count was 350t, and I had pocket 6s. Got called by Kx. Flop had two kings, but turn was a 6!

A couple SNG wins

SNGs are still treating me good. Took 3rd in a $6 Turbo yesterday. I was the chip leader with three left (though we all were really close to each other).

Villain raised my Big Blind and I called with A3s. Flop came AKx. He bet, I re-rasied all in. He called with K4. He had 5 outs on the turn and river, and a 4 came on the next card. That crippled me, and I went home a few hands after that.

Then this morning I won another $6 SNG. I was really happy with my play here. I didn't suck out on anyone, and nobody sucked out on me. Just good solid poker.

Also played really well in the ring games. Took about a $40 profit from the .10/.25 NL tables. At absolute, You can buy in for $50, instead of the usual $25 other sites have. Its amazing to me to see people buy in for the minimum ($10). Hardly anyone buys in for the max like me.

The most fun hand was when I was in the BB with 99. UTG limped, Button Raised and we both called. Flop came 249 rainbow giving me the nuts. I bet 3/4 pot, UTG Re-rasied All-in and the other guy called so quick it was funny. UTG turned over AKs, and Button turned over KK. The last king didn't fall on the turn or river, and I took both of their stacks. Too bad neither of them bought in for a full stack.

An addition to those poker winnings, I cleared another $30 or so in bonus, so the last two days have profited me a cool $100. Ya gotta like those days!

BankRoll around $600

Nothing too exciting to report today. Took 3rd place in a $10 SNG yesterday, and went out in 5th in one today.

Here are the hands that did me in on the first one. I was the chip leader with three left, and a complete luck sack drew out on me continuously

I hit two pair on the flop. Pot is 1300, and I bet roughly one third. I didn't want to scare him away. He then of course hits his two outer on the turn. Good thing I didn't bet the river.

And then the one from today really pissed me off. I hadn't been invloved in too many hands so far. But I did take one pot off of villain earlier when I hit top pair with ok kicker. He hit middle pair with crap kicker, and called my raise on the flop, then bet smallish on turn and river and I called him down, taking the pot. My read on him is that he is a total muppet. He seemed to fold if he didn't have a hand, but would stay with it if he caught anything on the flop, even bottom pair.

Even after all that, I'm still about even the last 2 days. I took a nice $30 pot this morning with KK in a .10/.25 NL game.

Bankroll is just under $600 I think

Monday, October 17, 2005

Oof Da!

I got a good quick kick in the junk by variance over at absolute this weekend on the .50/1.00 limit games. I lost about 50.00 this weekend on roughly 500 hands. Ouch. Thats 10BB/100!!. At least one quarter of those losses came when I had pocket kings. Over those 500 hands, I got KK 5 times. Thats pretty good. But I won only one of those times. Three of the times, someone else held POCKET ACES!!!!!!!!!!1!!1!!!! Three times! Isn't the odds of someone having AA when you hold KK like 1000:1 or something? Then the other loss was when someone held pocket jacks and hit trips on the flop. ARgggg.

The good news though is that I did pretty damn good away from the limit tables. Made a good $30 playing NL ring. And then over at Pokerstars I played in a 3 table (27 person) $5 SNG, and won for a nice profit of $45, and then won a $10 SNG for a profit of $34.

Damn, I wish I had more time to play poker, cause I have been doing awesome at SNGs.

Bankroll is probably around $500 or so. Over at Absolute, I am up about $10, plus an additional $60 from bonus, and at Pokerstars, I am up about $50, with 15% of the bonus completed.

Off to Absolute

Howdy all,

Been playing at both Absloute and PokerStars the last week. I deposited $100 at absolute, and so far I have completed $40 out of the $150 bonus. Also I'm up around $25 playing .50/1.00 limit. I've been doing really good at absloute.

I also deposited $300 at PokerStars, which gets me a $75 bonus. I'm only about 10% of thw way through on FPPs. I'm down about $20 bucks there since this last deposit. I've played 5 SNGs. I have one 1st, one 3rd, and the rest out of the money. And I'm not doing so hot at the limit tables either. I've had one nice session where I made $19, but every other session has been bad.

Is it me, or has the play at PokerStars gotten even more and more tighter? Lots more good players at the .50/1.00 level than other sites. In every one of the SNGs I've played lately, there are still 8+ people after 5 levels or so!

I think BoDog may be my place to play in the future for SNGs.

Discipline

I need to be more disciplined.

I go to one of these new sites to do some bonus whoring, and I see some new games, and go "OOooo, that looks like fun!" And I try my hand at some 5 card draw, or some pineapple, etc.... Plus I need to get back into the routine of tracking my play better. When I was just playing at PokerStars, I kept detailed information, but now that I am jumping from site to site, I haven't been doing that.

I would say that I am about a litte bit better than break even poker player at Limit Hold 'em and I've made a few dollars at NL Ring. I've made the most money playing Sit-N-Gos. But I've given my profits back playing some of these other games, plus the MTTs. I really like playing NL MTTs (just small buy-ins), but I have never cashed. The only MTTs I have done good in were FPP Qualifiers at PokerStars. I'm 2 for 2 in the top 10 for those.

I finally purchased PokerTracker this morning with some of my profits, and I am going to stick to Limit for a while, plus SNGs at Stars. I think this is +EV for me.

Thanks for reading!

Paradise Bonus Cleared

Finished my bonus over at Paradise. But lost $70 in the process. This sucks, cause was about even with only about 250 hands to go. So I only made a profit of $30.

Got killed at the NL and PLO8 tables at BoDog this weekend too. And I didn't even play that much. I got rivered three times in eight hands playing NL. I did take 2nd in a $10 SNG to make a few dollars back. I then cashed everything out of BoDog. Deposited $50, made $50 bonus, and $67 from playing poker.

Here is my bankroll status as of today.

Initial Deposit: $100

Poker Stars: +$20.00 Bonus; -$7.00 Poker
Bet365: +$100.00 Bonus; -$20.00 Poker
Crazy Poker: +$50.00 Bonus; +$35.00 Poker
BoDog: +$50.00 Bonus; +$67.00 Poker
Paradise: +$100.00 Bonus; -$70.00 Poker

Bonus Profit: $320.00
Poker Profit: $5.00

Total Bankroll: $425.00

So I've been playing Poker now since beginning of June, so 4 months total, and I've made a whopping $5.00 playing poker! LOL!

My Next Bonus will be Absolute. I'll deposit $100.00. Then the rest I will Deposit into PokerStars. They have a 25% reload going on now through the end of the week.

Working on Paradise Bonus

Greetings faithful readers.

Not much on the poker front to report. I am still trying to complete the bonus over at Paradise. I have about 250 more hands to go to clear it. I'm playing about even poker, but would have made a nice profit if it wasn't for me trying to play some Omaha. I'm killing the .50/1.00 limit hold 'em games there, but I just give it right back on the $50 PLO8 and $50 PLO tables. I have quit playing that game, especially at that limit.

I've played in three BoDog $5 SNGs that last couple days, and haven't placed in the money yet on those.

This morning, with about 5 or 6 people left, I get KK in the BB. The big stack (he has 4 times as much as me, and twice as much as anyone else) limps in, SB completes, I raise it up to 3X BB (30/60 blinds). Big Stack calls. Flop comes x,5,5. I bet 3/4 pot. He calls. turn is a 9. I bet half pot. He calls again. River is a blank. I bet half pot, he re-raises to put me all in. He turns over the all powerfull 95 sooted! for a full house. Holy crap. I asked him if he works for BoDog. He didn't respond.

Off to Paradise

Deposited $200 at Paradise last night. Even though I've read on the www.bet-the-pot.com forums that Paradise sucks, I decided to give it a try anyways. $100 bonus for 1000 raked hands is pretty good, especially since I can clear it at limits I am comfortable with.

Cleared about 200 hands last night and this morning, and then made a decent $18 profit at the tables while doing it. I think I can have this bonus cleared in a week or so.

My first impression with Paradise is that it is super slow. The graphics are slow, which slows down play, and they give everyone at least 30 seconds to make a decission. I'm lucky to see 30-40 hands an hour at the .50/1.00 limit tables. You can only play 3 tables at a time too. It's not that big of a deal, since 4 is probably my max, but this will slow down the bonus clearing. I played some 5 card draw there and had some fun and made a little money. Those hands go fast since it is only 5 people per table

Cheers!

Best Poker Day Ever

I had my best day of poker ever on Saturday.

I started my session with around $65 in my BoDog account, and ended the day at almost $200! I made a good $130 bucks!

I started out the night by joining a $7 , guarenteed $3000 MTT. First hand I flop the nut flush and eliminate a player who was betting into me. SO I am the chip leader after a few hands. I then wnet a few orbits without getting anything good, and proceeded to donk away my chips on two hands. I played really bad. With a full house on the board, I took my opponents (who I had covered) bet to mean a bluff. Nope, he had the 4th card for quads. Doh! I shoulda just let that hand go PF. I then pickup AQ and make a 4x BB raise. The table chip leader calls. I hit TPTK, with two clubs on the board. I bet pot and get called. turn is the 3rd club. I bet the rest of my chips, and he turns over KT of clubs to eliminate me. Out in 221st place out of around 380.

I then played a few SNGs. I played three $5 SNGs, took 1st place in two of them, 5th in the other. Then I played a $10 and won that one too. A nice $72.50 profit from those.

And I was also playing some PL Omaha HL. Very very loose play there. I scooped a huge $60 pot. With one card to go, I had a draw for the nut high and the nut low. I needed a heart for the nut high, and any card from 4-7 for the nut low. The [4h] comes and I scoop the largest pot I've ever been a part of. That felt pretty good.

And I also played pretty good at the .50/1.00 limit tables.

And while doing that I cleared the BoDog bonus, so I can withdraw anytime now. But, I think I'll keep money there cause I like their SNGs

My SNG stats for BoDog are:
  • Total Played: 9 (six $5, one $6, two $10)
  • 1st place: 4
  • 2nd place: 0
  • 3rd place: 0
  • 4th place: 1
  • 5th place: 3
  • 9th place: 1
  • Total wagered: $61.50
  • Total won: $200.00
  • ITM%: 44.4%
  • Profit: $138.50
  • ROI: 225%

I'm in the process of finding the next site to grab a bonus from. I've done bet365, CrazyPoker, and BoDog.

Bankroll sitting just above $400
